Totoro (aka Toto) my dog and an unhealthy interest in all things Japanese, particularly their approach to minimalism and focus on continuous improvement.

My areas of interest fall into two overlapping themes.

One is around the psychology of people prediction and trying to understand what makes individuals relentless in trying to change the status quo.

The other is looking at new themes, currently I am exploring the power that connecting different disciplines together (hardware, software, science) could have on preventative healthcare.

I founded Eka in 2018 alongside Jon and Andrew having been investing in consumer technology companies from seed to growth since 2013.

I have been fortunate enough to work with some extraordinary entrepreneurs at Bloom & Wild, Gousto and Elder, seeing them develop into emerging category leaders.

I started my career at Bain & Company, enjoying time with them in Tokyo and San Francisco and studied Law at Oxford University.

I am married to a chef who runs a cookery school and I have two young boys. I am a frustrated sports fanatic who occasionally gets to watch a rugby match, play a round of golf or go on a long run.

I believe in the power of information technology to change today’s archaic business systems to better serve humanity and the environment. I decided to dedicate my career to backing founders that share this belief and Eka is a realisation of that.

I founded Eka Ventures in 2018 having spent the last decade investing at seed and series A in fast growth consumer technology companies.

Prior to starting Eka I was Co-Managing Partner and Head of the Investment Team at MMC Ventures. I led MMC’s investments in 14 companies, including Interactive Investor (1bio+), Gousto (1bio+), Bloom&Wild ($500m+), Mubi, Cloudsense and Peak. I have an Engineering degree and technology has been the constant thread in my education and career.

Friends and family are the most important thing to me. I do everything I can to spend more time with them!

I spend my time thinking, talking and reading about what shapes people’s beliefs and the decisions they make.

I founded Eka with Jon and Camilla in 2018 after spending 8 incredible years at a mission-driven recruitment and consulting company called La Fosse. I was part of the early team there joining when it was 10-20 people and leaving when it was over 200. I worked my way from an associate to head of sales and then finally running a small consultancy supporting post seed/series A businesses.

Everything in my career has been focused on people; it is why I went into sales and then recruitment. Once I had realised Venture Capital was all about people, I knew I had to start something in the industry.
